Students of 3 and 4 years of bachelor’s program, LETI Electronic Technology and Automation graduate students and representatives of Power Machines participated in the event. Company experts told the youth about the career prospects in the student design bureau and opportunities of further recruitment to the Power Machines on preferential terms.
Training in the student design bureau is based on the information resources and specialized software products of the company, technical tasks execution in the field of programming, automation, digitalization and engineering in power plant industry for real customers.
Admission to the SDB will be carried out in two rounds: in March and in October. Candidates can choose between two work fronts. The first one deals with the Directorate for Power Machines Automation Systems (DPMAS). This subdivision of Power Machines produces APCS of various levels, controllers, excitation systems, hydroelectric power plants governing systems, electrical drives for haul trucks and excavators. Also, DPMAS employees develop information systems of predictive diagnostics and electric vehicle charging stations. The second front will be formed at "SMTT. High-Voltage Solutions" LLC – manufacturer of various transformers, including autotransformers and phase angle regulating systems.
Students who have passed competitive admissions would get fixed-term employment contracts. Besides new skills and practical experience, participants of the SDB will receive money reward and record of work for the company.
Power Machines is developing a wide network of student design bureaus throughout Russia. Power Machines SDB have already been created and are successfully operating at the National Research University MPEI, St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Ufa State Aviation Technical University and others. Today 79 students from 8 universities participate in the project.
